The Mühlenstube

The Mühlenstube is our pride and joy as well as the genesis of all gastronomic activities at the Zeiskamer Mühle. It was a place for eating and drinking even in grandmother’s time. Her original oven is still to be found in the Mühlenstube and invites food-lovers to wonder what was simmered in the pots and fried in the pans in the old days.

Everyone sitting down at the rustic wooden tables is happy to sit a little longer and, while eating and drinking, allow their gaze to wander over the sandstone walls typical of our part of Germany, over the gnarled wooden floor and across to the original door of the Mühlenstube which we have carefully retained. A large part of the old wood used in this restaurant comes from our own forest. And it is more than worth-while to glance out of the window – the longest river in the Palatinate, the Queich, flows past where once the mill wheel clattered in the mill race...
